About

Originally from rural western Oklahoma, I am a summa cum laude graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and I followed in my mother's footsteps by earning my MSW from the University of Oklahoma. After graduate school, I spent over two years traveling and sailing through SE Asia and Australia. While living in Bali, Indonesia, I became interested in yoga and meditation. This immersion in Eastern philosophy continues to shape my personal and professional paths.

Since settling in Dallas in 2012, I have worked as a therapist in many settings, and my clients have ranged in age from 15 to 101. I led inpatient and outpatient groups in a psychiatric hospital, performed grief and bereavement counseling in hospice, and developed a strong knowledge of area resources through home health and community social work for a local hospital.

During my time at a Dallas community college, I particularly enjoyed working as a counselor with international students and veterans. I am EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy trained and appreciate how my past experiences with mindfulness and meditation go hand-in-hand with trauma and attachment therapy. In my work with couples, I am a fan of the Gottman Method and have completed their Level 1 training. I am currently in private practice as a teletherapist.

In my free time, I love traveling, riding horses, and neighborhood walks with my dog.
